Privacy Policy

Bounce (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile digital audio workstation. We built it with privacy in mind. Your recordings, projects, and musical content stay on your device. We do not listen to what you record and we do not sell your data.

Bounce has no account system. We never ask for and never receive your name or email address.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. If you have questions, email us at privacy@getbounce.app.

Bounce includes three optional features that require an internet connection and send data to our servers and to third-party AI providers. These features are entirely opt-in. They activate only when you explicitly tap to use them. If you never use them, no data leaves your device.

Spark (prompt to project). When you type a prompt describing a track, that text is sent to our server, which relays it to Anthropic for interpretation. Anthropic returns musical parameters (genre, tempo, key) that Bounce uses to generate your project on-device.

Generate a Sound. The text description you provide is sent to our server and relayed to ElevenLabs, which returns an audio clip.

Sing a Hook. The text description you provide is sent to our server and relayed to ElevenLabs, which returns a vocal audio clip.

What we send:

• The text prompt you type
• An anonymous device identifier (a randomly generated UUID stored in your device's Keychain)

What we do not send:

• Your audio recordings
• Your project files or musical content
• Your name, email address, contacts, photos, or location
• Any information that identifies you personally

To meter credit usage, Bounce generates a random identifier the first time you launch the app and stores it in your device’s Keychain. This identifier is not linked to your Apple ID, your name, or any other personal information, and it is not used for advertising or tracking across apps or websites. It exists solely so our server can associate a credit balance with your installation of the app.

Information collected automatically:

• Anonymous device identifier — see "Device Identifier" above.
• Crash reports and diagnostic data — anonymized error logs that help us fix bugs. These do not include your audio or project content.
• Basic usage analytics — e.g. which features are used most often, session length. No audio is included. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you.

Information we never collect:

• Your audio recordings or project files.
• Microphone audio outside of an active recording session you initiate.
• Your location.
• Contacts, photos, or any other data unrelated to the app.
• Your name, email, or any personally identifying information.

When you use an AI feature, your prompt is processed by:

• Anthropic (Spark prompt interpretation) — anthropic.com/legal/privacy
• ElevenLabs (sound and vocal generation) — elevenlabs.io/privacy-policy

These providers process your prompt to generate a response. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies, linked above.

We also use:

• Apple App Store — app distribution and in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy applies to transactions processed through their platform.
• Crash reporting tools — we may use a service such as Firebase Crashlytics to receive anonymized crash reports.

We do not integrate advertising SDKs, data brokers, or behavioral tracking services into the app.

Credit packs and the Pro unlock are processed by Apple. We never see or store your payment information. When you buy credits, our server receives a transaction identifier from Apple in order to verify the purchase and add credits to your balance.

We retain your anonymous device identifier and its associated credit balance for as long as you use the app, so your credits persist across sessions. Prompt text is transmitted to fulfill your request and is not stored on our servers.

You can use Bounce fully without ever triggering an AI feature. Recording, editing, mixing, effects, instruments, and export all run entirely on your device and work offline. None of those actions transmit any data.

If you stop using the app and want your device identifier and credit balance removed from our servers, email privacy@getbounce.app and we will delete it.

Bounce is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy as Bounce grows and new features are added. When we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
